DATA-CAN is the UK’s Health Data Research Hub for Cancer with the goal of improving access to cancer data for research by making it easier for researchers and others to discover and, where appropriate, access cancer data.
Northern Region Young Persons’ Malignant Disease Registry
The Northern Region Young Persons’s Malignant Disease Registry is a paediatric cancer registry covering north Cumbria and the north east of England, containing patient data since 1968.
West Midlands Regional Children’s Tumour Registry
The West Midlands Regional Children’s Tumour Registry is a specialist paediatric cancer registry containing patient data from 1957 onwards.

The CCLG are a children’s cancer charity and the UK’s professional association for those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer.
National Disease Registration Service (NDRS)
NDRS is part of NHS England and includes the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service (NCRAS) and the National Congenital Condition and Rare Diseases Registration Service (NCARDRS). NDRS uses data provided by patients and collected by the NHS as part of their care and support. NDRS also publishes a cancer data interactive dashboard.
Health Data Research Innovation Gateway
The Health Data Research Innovation Gateway provides a common entry point to discover and enquire about access to UK health datasets for research and innovation. It provides detailed information about the datasets, which are held by members of the UK Health Data Research Alliance, such as a description, size of the population, and the legal basis for access.
International Association of Cancer Registries (IACR)
The International Association of Cancer Registries holds a list of primarily for population-based registries from around the world.
